Semi-Annual Brush Collection - No Need to Bundle
The Village of Bartlett with contractor Trees "R" Us provides semi-annual brush pickup in the spring and fall that does NOT require bundling.
Place all non-bundled brush in the parkway, cut ends facing street, by 7 a.m. on the Monday morning of your area's assigned week. The pickup for your specific block may not occur until later in the week depending on how many households in each area are using this service. However, once the truck goes down a street they will NOT go back around a second time. Please DO NOT put brush piles under trees, next to fixtures, mailboxes or power poles, etc.
Because Trees “R” Us crews use a grappler, it is better if the branches are piled in a large pile and not spread along the parkway. Nothing should be cut shorter than 4 feet or the grappler can’t grab it easily. The contractor is also able to take branches that have a larger diameter, as long as it is not a very large log or tree stump.
Dates for the 2024 Semi-Annual Brush Collection:
Spring Collection - Week of 6/10: ALL homes will be collected during this one week in June
Fall Collection - Week 9/30 to 10/4: homes west of S. Bartlett and south of the Metra tracks
Week 10/7 to 10/11: ALL homes east of S. Bartlett plus ALL homes north of the Metra tracks
This is a supplemental program. Groot will still continue to pick up weekly bundled brush, see details below.

Collections for Storm Damaged Brush
In the event of a storm that causes widespread tree damage, Bartlett Public Works may do a special brush pickup to assist residents. Whether or not a special pickup is scheduled will depend on the severity and size of the storm. The village will always provide notice of a special pickup through one or more of the following:
• Village of Bartlett website, bartlettil.gov
• Village of Bartlett official Facebook page
• Bartlett Connect app - email blast and/or notification
• Bartlett Public Works - call 630-837-0811
Due to the unexpected nature of storms, the village will NEVER mail out or hand out notices for special brush pickups. To ensure efficiency when a special brush pickup is scheduled, residents will be required to sign up through an online portal or by calling in your address. You must be placed on the list and have your brush out at the allotted time or it will not be picked up.
If you are unable to take advantage of a special pickup for storm damaged brush, the brush collection options outlined above are available from April through November.
