The Village Clerk and Finance staff in the Main Office are responsible for issuing licenses. Licenses issued include: liquor, business, video gaming, massage establishment and contractors.

Licensing in the Village of Bartlett is covered in the following sections of the Bartlett Municipal Code.

Business Licensing, Title 3

Liquor Licensing Title 3, Chapter 3

Video Gaming Licensing, Title 3, Chapter 31

You can apply online for licenses using the licensing portal (except for massage establishment)

Business, liquor, and video gaming licenses are issued for one year and expire on April 30 and must be renewed prior to expiration.

For new businesses that will occupy a physical space in the Village, a certificate of occupancy must be obtained from the Village of Bartlett's Planning & Development Services Department prior to the issuance of a business license. For more information on obtaining an occupancy permit, contact PDS at 630-540-5920.

If you will be selling liquor as part of your business, you must obtain a separate liquor license by completing a liquor license application. Further, if you want to have video gaming terminals on the premises you will need a liquor license and apply for a separate video gaming license. Most businesses should begin by completing the business license application first, followed by the liquor license, and then the video gaming terminal license.

For questions regarding any licensing, please contact the Village at 630-837-0800.
