Building Permits

Building permits are required for all construction and home improvement projects, regardless of whether the work is completed by the homeowner or a contractor. All contractors must be licensed by the Village of Bartlett. Construction projects include, but are not limited to: additions, exterior repairs, demolition, fences, swimming pools, driveways, sidewalks, patios, decks, sheds, central air conditioning, dog runs, dish antennas, gazebos, garages, and electrical revisions. Building permit applications and building permits may be obtained from the Building Department, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A permit fee is charged to cover the cost of inspections. Project specification information sheets may also be obtained at the main office in Village Hall on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon.

The Ordinances of the Village of Bartlett are designed to protect and promote the public health, safety, morals, comfort, convenience and general welfare of the people.

The Municipal Code is available for inspection at the Main Office and the Bartlett Library.
