The Tri-Village Garden Club of Bartlett, Hanover Park and Streamwood meets monthly, on the third Wednesday, from February through November. Guests welcome, no gardening experience needed.
On Wednesday, 2/19, Mike Nowak, of WGN Radio, Chicagoland Gardening Magazine and author of “Attack of the Killer Asparagus…” will speak at the Tri-Village Garden Club meeting. His hilarious presentation will be “Everything You Know About Gardening is Wrong: Myths, Misinformation and Well-Meant, but Inaccurate Advice from Mom, the Intertubes, and Beyond.” Nowak humorously walks his audience through some common misconceptions about plants, gardening remedies and even insects and why you need to check your sources before you grab your shovel.
