World War I Walk

World War I Walk - 10 a.m. OR 2 p.m. A century ago, in 1919, Bartlett welcomed home its WW I soldiers with a parade, ballgame and more. Learn about the community's 19 Yanks and its homefront efforts during the Great War. Walk with museum staff through the heart of old Bartlett to see where some of the soldiers worked and lived and learn about the Village's support and fundraising endeavors. The walk will last about one hour. Wear comfortable shoes! Meet at the Bartlett Depot Museum 15 minutes prior to tour time.

Also, the Bartlett Depot Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during Bartlett Days on Saturday, 9/7. Stop in anytime for a free kids craft and to pick up a free self-guided downtown walking tour.The current exhibit is "Over There, Over Here! Bartlett and the Great War" The first 100 visitors will receive a color changing cup that celebrates the Village's turning the tap to Lake Michigan water.

The Bartlett History Museum will be open Saturday, 9/7, from 9 a.m. to noon. Celebrate Illinois' 200th birthday through this state endorsed exhibit, "The Illinois Bicentennial, Celebrating State and Bartlett Shared History." Visitors will learn about Illinois' farming, railroad, architecture, etc., through a Bartlett lens. The first 30 visitors will receive a color changing cup that celebrates the Village's turning the tap to Lake Michigan water.
