2019 marks the 75th anniversary of the Normandy Invasion or D-Day. Historian Robert Mueller’s presentation at Bartlett Public Library will focus upon individuals from the U.S. 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions who overcame the German defenses and the U.S. 2nd Ranger Battalion who captured the German gun positions at Pointe du Hoc. The presentation features period and contemporary photographs of battles and battle sites. Mueller will end his talk with a visit to Normandy American Cemetery, site of the bloodiest of the fighting.
