Bartlett Historical Plaque Nomination Deadline

  • Date: 03/15/2017

The Bartlett Historical Society is again accepting nominations for its historical plaques. These plaques are purely honorary and place no obligations or restrictions on the owner or property. There is no cost to the building owner. Honorees not only get their own special place in Bartlett history, but they receive a plaque for their building. Plaques are awarded at a special ceremony during a Village Board Meeting with a reception.

Structures must be at least 50 years old. Additionally they must have local architectural value and/or have housed a historically prominent person. Priority will be placed on the oldest structures, ones most faithful to the original structural and ones maintained in good condition. Additions must be sympathetic to the original design. All buildings (commercial, public, residential, barn) and sites shall be recognized as characteristic of their own time period.

The Bartlett Historical Society reserves the right to select a small number of sites to honor each year, but will keep all nominations open for future years. Only the owner of a building can apply for its plaquing. For more information or a nomination form, email carolbartletthissoc@comcast.net. To be considered for 2017, the nomination forms are requested by Wednesday, 3/15.
