Arts in Bartlett presents "Delicate Beauty," an exhibit of artistically printed photographs by Joanne Barsanti. The exhibit runs from March 2 through April 6 and is free and open to the public.
According to Barsanti, her subject matter is taken from nature and then reduced to its simplest forms, shapes and lines. Images are carefully composed and composited to evoke a simplicity and peacefulness commonly found in Asian art. To enhance the digital textures and special effects, she prints the images on elegant Kozo/Unryu paper made in Japan. The final step is an ancient post-print process that results in a crinkled and distressed look."
You are also invited to celebrate Barsanti at a reception on Tuesday, 3/17 beginning at 6 p.m. Exhibit hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, call 630-372-4151 or go to www.artsinbartlett.org.
