Try your hand at shooting then relax with lunch and wine tastings. At Buffalo Range Shooting Park in Ottawa, you will enjoy a couple of hours of outdoor shooting in two ranges. “The Pit” is a large open range where you
have target assessment from 40 to 75 yards. You can break from traditional target shooting allowing you to
to “plink” at targets such as stuffed animals, milk jugs, plastic containers and such. “The Pistol Range” offers
target shooting in lanes from 5 to 15 yards. Guns, ammunition, targets, eye and ear protection, gun safety
instructions and a group Range Safety Officer will all be provided. A photo ID is required. No shooting
experience is needed.
Ron’s Cajun Connection will be the lunch stop, where you can enjoy one of the famous
catfish, jambalaya, chicken, or shrimp dishes. August Hill Winery will be the final stop to enjoy the “Ultimate
Tasting Experience." This is a one-hour presentation where you will experience the personality of bubbles with
sparkling wines; the difference glassware makes in tasting wine; and learn about wine and food pairings. You
will receive a tasting of 4 different wines along with assorted food samples. There will be time to sample more
wines and do some shopping before boarding the bus to come home. Fee of $100 resident and $125
nonresident includes transportation (start and ends at Bartlett Community Center), the gun range and
wine tasting. Lunch is at your own expense.
Bartlett Park District registration deadline July 11. Limited to the first 13 registrants.
