Arts in Bartlett presents "Study in Black & White" photography exhibit by Melissa Lloyd, a Bartlett resident and Maine West High School teacher, at the Village Hall 2nd floor gallery. The exhibit runs from February 3 through February 28 and is free and open to the public.
The exhibit features Lloyd's works from the Methodist campgrounds located along the river in Des Plaines. She called her subject "a photographer’s dream" with the cottages painted white with green trim. The flooding of the Des Plaines River throughout the years has caused the campground’s deterioration, which she said created a "subtle beauty." She used a 35MM Nikon FMz to shoot and custom print each of the images.
You are also invited to celebrate Lloyd at a reception on Tuesday, 2/17 beginning at 6 p.m. Exhibit hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, call 630-372-4151 or go to www.artsinbartlett.org.
