The 3 Strings Trio --two violins and a cello -- debuted in 2017 at their fifth-grade talent show. In 2019, they created a YouTube channel called 3 STRINGS showcasing solo and ensemble pieces. They have been performing together ever since, including at the opening of Saint Charles Public Library.
Tiffany, Liza, and Katya currently play together in the school chamber orchestra. All three are seniors at Saint Charles North High School with plans to graduate this May. They hope to continue pursuing music in college and beyond.
Musical arrangements with two violins and a cello are simply labeled as “string trio.” While composers of the baroque era produced volumes of trio sonatas, by the late eighteenth century, composers writing trios tended to favor the combination of violin, viola and cello. Collections for trios, two violins and cello, include many arrangements from the classical and romantic eras, plus a number of works in more recent styles such as ragtime and tango.
