Who were the people who built the stores, the banks, the restaurants and other businesses in Bartlett? The evolving business community is full of twists and turns. The Bartlett Historical Society invites you to its first Bartlett business walk, A Business Walk through the Years. Join the historical society on Saturday, 9/16 as the secrets and history of the Bartlett Avenue business community are revealed. The walk will begin at the Bartlett Wellness Center at 304 W. Bartlett Ave. (on the north side of the tracks), proceed east, and will finish at the Best Dental Group at 106 W. Bartlett Ave. On the way, you will learn how the buildings have housed a variety of businesses from the very first days of Bartlett to the thriving community it is today. Twelve businesses will be included in this historical walk which is free and open to the public. At the conclusion of the walk you may wish to enjoy a snack or lunch on your own at one of the many downtown restaurants. The choice is yours. All Metra parking spaces are free on Saturdays. Note: the walk may not be of interest to children younger than the age of 11.j
