Arts in Bartlett presents a new exhibit, "Oservational Musings," by painter Christine Hayman from July 12 until September 4 at the Bartlett Village Hall 2nd floor gallery. The Village Hall exhibit is free and open to the public during regular Village Hall hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. You are invited to the free reception to meet Hayman on Tuesday, 7/20 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Hayman grew up in the Pacific Northwest where the majestic mountains, breathtaking fields of flowers and the deep blue water of Puget Sound provided the backdrop of her childhood. A teacher by training, she loves working with children and enjoys photography, gardening and painting. For several years Hayman was involved with the Art Docent Program, bringing art history and related projects to students in local classrooms. Upon discovering oil pastels, Chris was instantly drawn to the brilliant colors, creamy texture and versatility they offer. She continues to joyfully explore this medium and looks forward to each new painting with great excitement.
Hayman lives in St Charles. She is a student of local artist Carol Zack and is a member of the Yellow House Artists, the DuPage Art League and Arts in Bartlett. In the spring of 2019 she participated in an exhibit at the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago. Always looking for new challenges, Hayman paints portraits, landscapes, still life and also does commissioned works.
