The League of Women Voters Roselle/Bloomingdale will host a movie night featuring the film “The Long Shadow” at the Bloomingdale Public Library. “The Long Shadow” takes an astonishingly candid look at the politics of slavery from America's founding up through its insidious ties to racism today.
The event will be moderated by Paul Scott, assistant secretary and executive committee member of the DuPage County Branch of the NAACP. Scott also works with Together is Better Alliance as a facilitator at screenings of “The Long Shadow” film. Through the Alliance, Scott has led conversations on white privilege, bias, race, equality and equity across the region.
Members of the public are invited to a thought-provoking evening learning from Scott and the League of Women Voters of Roselle/Bloomingdale. Members are encouraged to bring a friend. This meeting is free and open to the public. For more information about other league events and monthly meetings, please contact Roberta Borrino at 630-283-2894.
